So one user today asked me why JellyChip is called "JellyChip"? Valid question. So let's sit around the campfire and I will tell you the story.
I quit my job and started JellyChip in 2014, I was an auditor for a big company and it sucked. This happened around the same time as Pocket Rice's success too. I brought a team together to create JellyChip - like Pocket Rice but minus the rice, a network for crowdsourcing charity gifts for free. Except instead of creating an app I created a website with lots of circles. Those were called Chips. Each Chip had a different colour like Jelly so the network was called JellyChip. Each Chip did very much the same thing you see now in the app - Chat, Snaps, Trivia, Surveys, and a Gift Chip.
But the website didn't work because it was a website. We wanted to create an app when we started JellyChip but didn't have the resources. So we set aside all plans in 2016 and focused completely on the app, this meant turning off the website and focusing our 10 programmers on the JellyChip app in 2016. We worked hard on the app through all of 2016 and look where we're at.
We're "finishing" JellyChip now and in a month, it'll be time to properly introduce JellyChip to the world.
So there we are, colourful Chips on a website. Our veteran users certainly remember the good old days!
