People get REALLY confused on the login screen for some reason. Perhaps it’s because we’ve overemphasised a really simple login/signup screen with few buttons and little guidance.
Anyway what we’ve found is new users are so keen to get into JellyChip they often don’t read things properly. They’re trying to login to JellyChip before they are existing users by pressing the “login” button first.
As our marketing team made clear yesterday, it should be the other way around. JellyChip is soon going to be in a huge user drive which means that more people will be signing up than logging in. In this way - more users will utilise the signup screen first which is why that should be the primary screen for EVERY user.
We hope this makes sense. It makes sense to Faith and it makes sense to me too. More users signing up versus using JellyChip currently (104% more) means the signup screen should be the primary one.
Users will have the opportunity to log back into JellyChip via the login button in the top right of the sign up page. So that’s what we’ll do. When a user loads JellyChip for the first time they’ll see the signup screen first.
Reimplementing the logic now the other way around - this should help with new users being unable to login to the app. Which sucks. Not the right first impression that I want to send to potential life-changers!
Will be finished by the end of the day.
