So it’s time to give you a little summary of our journey over the past two weeks and it’s been pretty awesome! We launched JellyChip version 2 on the 18th February and it’s been go-time every single day.
Some pretty cool stats to look at: you guys have now bought more than 60 charity gifts, including 38 polio vaccines, 10 food sachets, 8 milk sachets, and 10 measles vaccines, which is just completely amazing.
These free gifts will all go to people in need, to their respective countries. You should be very proud.
Like our humble measles vaccine. 10 kids will now get vaccinated because of your actions – it's just amazing. Funny that a simple site like ours can do so much good, but it can. As promised by JellyChip, you earn the gifts and we'll buy them for charity.
How do we pay for charity gifts? Surveys! And a formula. Basically, market research pays for charity gifts, and we’ll have some further information on this in an updated post.
Now how about the site? Check out the JellyChip version 2 post I made in the “Recent Updates” channel of the forum here to find out more. But our major update has basically been about making the site easier to use and more intuitive. We also have a new Chip called Snaps and new gifts in the JellyChip Store – check out the post for more info. And more importantly, check out the new site!
Since version 2 launched we've also updated JellyChip with a number of key fixes, including a friends number bug, a forum in age bug, a gift share bug (Facebook and Twitter sharing), built a points animation like in JellyChip Beta, made gift sharing to other social media look more beautiful, built points rewards into Snaps and a few admin things on our end.
We've also increased the history of the Chat Chip conversations from 10 messages to infinite. Now you'll see an endless scroll when you go back in time in your messages with a friend. We've also made permanent the points earned icon when chatting to your friends. This is awesome because you can now see the difference you're making to people in need across the world – simply by chatting to your friends.
As you can see we've been on an endless journey of feature implementation and refinement, and it’s not stopping here. We've also got some amazing updates on the way. JellyChip is probably about 1% complete and we have a long way to go to beat the likes of Facebook. But let's get there together.
Keep changing lives with us and can’t wait to see what we’re going to achieve. Solving global poverty, climate change, animal welfare. The sky’s the limit and we can do anything if we join forces. Let’s start with our small JellyChip Store and go from there!
