JellyChip is finally on the road to great success! We've completed our roadmap for the year ahead and finished some serious work on refactoring the JellyChip code on iOS and Android. This should make the app more stable on both platforms, and pave the way for a year of optimisations and fixes that give us the confidence to finally share JellyChip everywhere.
Our roadmap found on www.jellychip.com/roadmap now allows us to focus on the items we believe need to take priority and the features we think users need. Of course, first we need to tackle the number of bugs we've encountered over the past couple of weeks. This ranges from minor things like text changes and animation errors, to more complex bugs such as user connectivity (especially on iOS). We're tackling these bugs as we speak and aim to get all major bugs fixed by early February. This is important before we start advertising JellyChip as nobody wants to use a buggy product, and we don't want to waste the limited ad budget we have!
Next, we have a list of features coming up soon and then longer features. This stuff is designed to be accomplished in order - it's the features you want and it's the features we want to implement. We definitely have the technical know-how to implement each one, we just need time to make it happen. Again we don't want these features to contravene with the priority this year, in maintaining the stability of the app. So we need to make sure each one is properly tested before it's go-time. Of the large number of features we're implementing, we mostly look forward to immersing users further in JellyChip and making the JellyChip experience faster and more accessible to old users and new users alike. A new "overall" leaderboard is a favourite of the Developers for them to see who truly is the champion of JellyCitizens and where they themselves fit in the point-scoring pack. Very cool stuff.
We also really look forward to fixing our points economy once and for all. We've tried very hard to ensure that our points-giving is fair in the app and sustainable for us, so that millions of users can use JellyChip, spend points, buy charity gifts and we can pay for them at the same time. In the longer term and now. However we want to boost our giving in the months ahead, and permanently. Therefore we'll be "fixing" our points economy very soon and giving out more points for users to use. Side note: we've spent a lot of time on the maths here and can operate JellyChip sustainably when our surveys site is complete (and functioning) and our ads are working properly!
Anyway, check out the roadmap for more info on all of this!
To be honest I really look forward to having this roadmap completed so that users get the BEST possible experience the JellyChip app can offer. I joke with the JellyChip team that when this roadmap is completed we'll have JellyChip version 1.0 finally - maybe that's a cruel joke! But I think it'll definitely be "finished" when these important features are done. Let's make it happen!
Thanks for being part of the JellyChip journey and look forward to our continued and exciting journey together.
P.S. we're so close to completing our survey site which is amazing. We've worked hard on revolutionising the survey industry and will do big things when our surveys come online - cheapest survey platform on the planet, best features and it'll help people in need! Perfect synergies for a platform striving for perfection.
