There’s only a few small steps to fix up before we’ll be able to submit the Meteor Update tomorrow.
But it’s all resting on Unity actually providing us the production key necessary to complete the implementation. Hurry up you guys!!
We’ve implemented a basic popup animation for the meteor on iOS. It’ll appear every 3-5 mins with a 15 second window for users to click it. If they don’t tap it to watch the video, then it’ll disappear for good! Until the next 3-5 mins.
On Android it looks gorgeous with a cool animation from the far right with a spinning meteor crashing into the current Lifeline gift. We’ll do the same on iOS when we have a moment. We want the meteor to be special and give the user that sense of magic when they see it. We’ve done the best job we can.
Why are we doing this? Our existing ad providers suck. Read earlier blog posts on that matter as I’ve explained it pretty clearly - they’re just not paying enough and their “pay per install” model is all wrong.
Unity ads will allow pay per impression with a conversion that pays properly for the 5 points given out - theoretically. We’ll have to see in the real world whether this works. If it does it’ll be a very big thing and will help to start make JellyChip active!
Right now we’re waiting on a production key from Unity.
We’re sending a request to Unity, test users then watch the ad but then they’re not rewarded 5 points and we’re not paid - because we’ve not implemented the right API. That can only be done if Unity provides it to us.
We want to submit this update tomorrow but we’re waiting on that final piece of the puzzle. Come on guys!
