So we’ve had a little incident this evening.
Our chat became host to a bunch of “bad dudes” who thought it would be a good idea to post profanity in our Lifeline Feed. Not a good idea.
I don’t like it when people are mean on JellyChip. And I especially don’t like it in Feed. I mean, post whatever you want in Chat or Group Chat, I don’t care. But not in Feed - children read that stuff.
And when you’re singling out good members of the community - then you’re just being a douche. It turned out it was just a bunch of users from Eastern Europe who could really speak English anyway, so it just turned out to be a bunch of broken English obscenities that didn’t really amount to anything.
But it did rile up the user-base and quite a few people asked me what was going on.
So we’re going to have to do something different now. We’ll have to build a Lifeline Mute function into Lifeline to keep the bad guys out. This will allow JC mods to mute offenders then and there from between 1 day and 30 days.
Then I will have the power to ban users who fail to follow the Lifeline Feed guidelines.
I’ve always said I’m prepared to be more heavy than necessary on offenders to ensure the Feed is safe and I’ll still do that.
People need to understand that JellyChip is very much unlike other social platforms where “anything goes.” There’s no profanity, violence, aggression, or rudeness allowed in Lifeline Feed.
We will make Lifeline Feed a safe place for everyone.
