As you can imagine, and you have seen, JellyChip changes a lot. Sometimes we make small changes, sometimes we make quite big changes - to reflect product improvements and ways to do things better. I'm the one responsible for approving each change and it's important. We need to constantly improve JellyChip - to improve our product, to improve our processes, and improve your user experience.
We've made some significant changes to the website over the past two years since we started JellyChip way back in 2014. You know what? Maybe we change how we do things a little too much - that’s our unfortunate drive to improve. But we make our decisions for the better, and to change JellyChip is hugely important.
And now it's time to perform another one.
When our iOS and Android apps launch in the next couple of weeks we will be closing the current JellyChip site and migrating our about.jellychip.com homepage to the current jellychip.com. Now, our site has been available since August 2015 but I can’t help but feel that our apps are the future of JellyChip. They’re brilliant and they allow you to achieve what you want (changing lives) in the most beautiful way possible. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this. Why would we split our resources and work on two platforms when I can focus all our attention on our app and develop the best thing in the world?
I’ll be honest with you - they look amazing and function much better than the site, they're also going to attract (hopefully!) an audience that is mobile and hungry for a new social platform. There will be absolutely no changes to your account, what you've achieved, your friends or your chat - however we will be migrating you to our mobile platforms when they are available.
Social is mobile and half of the JellyChip features are built around using JellyChip on-the-go, such as Chat and Snaps. Our website was almost unintentionally planned for mobile the day we created it. Our website is heavily mobile-focused with our Chips and Feeds, and it does not make sense to replicate this again (and do a worse job than our apps). Anyway these are my thoughts.
We've been coding our app for 7 months now and they just work. It's the perfect window into the JellyChip experience and I really want that experience to become a part of people's lives. We want the world of JellyChip to be in your hands, on your commute, at school, on the toilet. And that will only happen if we can get JellyChip onto the personal devices you all carry around everywhere. We'd love to have the world chatting on JellyChip, sending pics, answering surveys and playing trivia - and ultimately buying charity gifts to change the world. All from the comfort of your personal device.
So this is a decision we've made - sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for being part of the website. Now it's time to upgrade how JellyChip works in your life so that you can truly make a change, change a life, wherever you may go. Grab an Internet connection and make a difference for free. Our developers are currently working overtime completing the app - it's an experience in patience and persistence. We're currently running through some serious tests of work already accomplished and nearing the finishing lines now.
You know what it's like - the rush to the finish line is a horrendous one. But there's no stopping this train, to coin a cliche, and I truly believe we’ve finally nailed the JellyChip experience for you. We'll let you know when the first version of the app launches and I hope you can part of this life-changing next step for us! I love your feedback as always and I personally respond to each request. Facebook message our page here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get in touch if you have ways we can improve JellyChip.
As always, let’s change some lives and continue to improve what we do while we're at it!
