We're right in the middle of implementing an expanded Gift Voting (based on your feedback) and Community Voting/Elder Council. It's like the biggest triple threat in known history!
Your feedback is essential to our super growth this year, which is why when I proposed a much bigger Gift Voting option I was amazed at your feedback. Would you really want every gift available in the Gift Voting section for you to pick and choose? OK. Would you really want to take complete control, or “hijack”, the gift process to determine where your impact goes on a daily/weekly/monthly basis? OK. Our decision to have 5 gifts in Gift Voting, which we then expanded to 10 gifts, was primarily done in order to ensure some excitement when Citizens see a gift they haven’t seen in a while. This was supposed to be fun for you!
But I understand that keen JellyCitizens want to take control over the impact they make. It’s essential to them that they can steer the ship of the JellyChip Express, and this means being able to communicate with the community and vote together for a considered impact. This came to light recently when I posted our epic achievement list for March. It’s big and long, but not incredibly deep. Obviously at this stage we’re young and our userbase is small - therefore our giving is equally small and spread. So if you want to make more strategic impact that’s deeper and more refined, we’ll do just that. We’re currently changing Gift Voting to include every gift in JC.
We also have a complex formula in our backend which determines the probability that any one gift will show in Gift Voting. This is determined by existing popularity, cost and gift category. We’ll also change this to reflect new Gift Voting rules. We’ll reserve the right to include some secret gifts in JC, which our formula will take care of.
So in summary we’ll give complete control to YOU!
I’ll shy away from explaining too much about Community Voting and Elder Council at this moment but again it’ll give the community a voice in addition to Lifeline Chat and Gift Voting, so that you can guide how JellyChip grows and develops.
We’ll always have a mega backlog of “nice-to-have” features but we’re coming towards the end of the line with our core app. In about two weeks we’ll start marketing JellyChip for real and this is going to be our first real marketing in 3 years. I’m apprehensive but it’s time for us to show the world what we’ve been making.
Fingers crossed for the road ahead!
