Yes! We finally completed gift timer version 2 today and sent it live to JellyChip. We've finally conquered the timer! Our main issue this weekend was how to refund hundreds of users at once without overburdening our users, but we eventually worked out a way.
Now users can get the best of both worlds. Gifts that constantly rotate in JellyChip, a "deeper JellyChip" involving the need for communication to conquer the expensive gifts within the timeframe, and the ability to have your points refunded if the gift fails to complete. This is a nice compromise and still adds an edge of competition that'll require people to communicate in Lifeline Chat, Group Chat, and individual Chat if they want to achieve the more expensive gifts.
JellyChip has been built on the social elements engendered by this feature and it's something we want to emphasize in everything we do. Giving on JellyChip should be done in a social way, we are proud of this - and we expect the JellyChip community to grow closer together as our app becomes more and more complete. Life is fun talking to friends and strangers, and we're determined to make people work together to make a difference and change a life. Our life-changing work is special so we should be sharing that feeling with one another. Communities are a very special thing.
BTW we're currently working on adding image upload to Chat and Group Chat, and ensuring our new ad provider is encrypted to protect against unwarranted invites. Our new ad integration is nearly complete and users will be able to earn a ton more points with this provider, and our image upload in Chat is around 80% complete. A few pesky bugs are stopping us from completing chat images but we should be on track to add this and new reward ads to our update on Wednesday/Thursday.
It's a great adventure and we continue to be part of something special - what is it? We can't define it yet!
