So we’ve spoken about making friends on JellyChip. Let’s talk about chatting to them too! JellyChip’s take on chatting to your friends is one of simplicity and making a difference whilst you do it. There are countless and boundless apps today that are chat apps, but we believe they are all striving for the wrong things. Obviously messaging your friends is the crux and foundation of a social platform, but why not allow people to make a free difference whilst they chat to their friends? Here JellyChip currently rewards users 2 points for receiving a message from a friend. But things are going to change slightly.
In this way we will removing the 100 message limit on messaging your friends. This was initially put in place to stop users from spamming friends with messages, but what the heck. Let’s remove this limit for version 2 and see where we end up. We believe at this stage users will be honest with their messaging and if find cases of spam messaging, we will remove them, and the corresponding points earned from the offending user.
This plays into the second pillar of the JellyChip version 2 evolution – the points economy. When a user can continue to earn points by having a conversation, what a better way to change the world. What a perfect idea to make a difference in encouraging people to start a conversation. Chat has been a fundamental part of our lives for so long, since the very foundations of our species, and it only makes sense to use Chat to fix the things that are currently wrong with our species. I can’t wait to see JellyChip come alive with the conversations of people talking and changing lives at the very same time.
A few more changes coming to the Chat Chip is the obvious colour change to reflect the Chip colour (hooray) and the ability for a user to now view a friend’s profile in the Chat Feed. This makes things easier to view a Friend’s progress on JellyChip as you chat to them. All in one tidy Feed.
There is also the ability to earn your Daily Quest for the Chat Chip. This involves sending a certain number of messages a day, easy stuff for 100 points. There is nothing better than having a conversation and making a difference.
What this ultimately means is that JellyChip is going to become more social and more alive. We want people on JellyChip to feel involved in achieving something big together. We want JellyChip as a social network to connect users in ways that have never been done before. The updates to the Friends Chip and Chat Chip have started this process, but there is a long way to go to connect people together in a deep and meaningful way.
We look forward to the future of social networking on JellyChip and hope that you are excited by these new changes coming to JellyChip. I am!
