This update focuses on 2 key new features. The Gift Timer and new Reward Ads! Gifts will now rotate faster through JellyChip so you can contribute to the things that matter to you. And with faster ways to earn through an enhanced selection of Reward Videos, you'll never be without points!
We've just submitted this update to the App Store and Google Play and will let you know when it's approved!
This is another minor fixes and performance improvement update before we start to add features again to JellyChip. We'll soon start to add the features that matter to you!
This update is now live on iOS and Android.
We made a sensational impact in August totalling $100.48 USD. Congrats! Your impact in JellyChip means you're changing lives all across the world and we'll pay for it. Remember our number #1 rule - if you earn it in the app we'll buy it in real life! Really proud of the huge amount of points you've been earning and spending in-app. It's great to see such community engagement and we hope this continues as we finally begin to scale JellyChip across the world.

Nice work everyone and let's continue to make the JellyChip community one of the most positive on the planet, and the most impacting! Big thanks to all you life-changers out there.
Here is an extremely rough list of features we'd like to implement. Their flavour and form will be determined by what the community wants them to be. At this stage they're sort of guidestones that we want to follow as we make JellyChip really great. Check them out below:
Better Gift Voting
Better Invite System
That's what we think we should do over the next couple of months. As we finish our server upgrades over the past two months and start new features, we'll be eager to hear your thoughts on the above stuff. We'll be really encouraging you to make your voice heard over at the official forum at forum.jellychip.com over the next couple of months. And as always, let us know about bugs there too!
We've got an exciting chapter ahead - we can't wait to get started.
We're a little late to the party this month but we've been trying to work out the best method for showing you our charity impact over the past couple of months. And we've gone through several different styles! We've tried the Stats screen in the app, our old Blog, the Stats screen on the website, and now finally our News channel here.
I think we'll stick with this format because it's the most logical way to show you our impact in list-form. We can also upload our charity receipts here when we receive them, which is good because of the nice and tidy format. When we get loads of charities from around the world - this will be a clean way to present that impact to you. So let's look a little deeper at our impact in July. Spoiler alert: we changed some lives last month!

The purpose of JellyChip Lifeline Feed is a place for community members to gather and discuss any topic that they see fit.
1. Read all of the rules and notes thoroughly, do not simply skim over them. If you fail to read the rules, that does not grant you immunity from punishment from breaking them.
2. You may not talk about the following things:
* Please note that if there is a topic being discussed that an operator sees unfit, discussion may be stopped at their discretion.
3. No spamming, insulting, or trolling. Along with this, do not flood the channel with messages. Instead, talk in complete sentences. Extended use of memes is not allowed. Talk in English please.
4. Do not impersonate others or change your name multiple times in a short period. Try to stay with a single name.
5. Do not excessively swear. The occasional swear is allowed, but please remember that this channel also has children in it and we would like to keep it family-friendly.
6. No talking bots are allowed. This also includes malicious scripts and scripts which may spam the channel on-command. Any exceptions to this rule will be at an operator's discretion.
7. Auto-rejoining after a kick is not allowed.
In order to enforce these rules, ops can and will kick and/or ban. Bans are rarely permanent, but they can be (for example, if you're an obvious spam bot).
You may have noticed that we've changed a few things with Live Chat since the last update, and it's now called Feed. Feed is going to be really important for us to showcase our charity achievements, app updates and our progress towards changing the world.
It's also going to be important for us to talk together and share stories about what we're doing and how we're changing the world thanks to your hard work in-app!
If you have JellyChip feedback or issues, now is a great time to go to forum.jellychip.com and post your issue there (under the right Channel) or message email@example.com with your issue - preferably 1) platform (iOS or Android), 2) OS version and 3) your issue. We read everything and fix what we can. This keeps Feed nice and tidy so people see our impact and news and can feel all juicy good about themselves.
Thanks for being part of JellyChip - we truly value each and every one of you. We're making a real impact on the planet and that's incredible! Keep changing lives.
So I've really been compelled over the last couple of weeks to run through what JellyChip "is", who we "are" and what makes up our world-changing platform.
Stay in touch with your friends and keep up to date with your favourite people. For every message you receive from a friend you get two points. Spend those points on a charity gift and you can change a life! JellyChip Chat is a really simple way to connect with people - we don't steal your data or mine your messages for stuff we can sell (we don't care). Your privacy is important to us, which is also why there currently isn't a read tick for each message read.
A picture is worth a thousand words, which is why Snaps made it into JellyChip. We don't know of any app where you can send a snap and change a life at the same time. For each snap you receive from a friend, you get two points to spend on a charity gift. A picture is worth a thousand words, but in JellyChip's instance it is also worth two points! Spread the love and snap some memories.
People have all sorts of questions. Some are obviously more serious than others but everybody wants to know stuff. The kind of stuff they want to know can easily be found by asking JellyChip! Whether it is a kid asking about his school project, or a global corporation asking about their next shoe line. People need answers and the JellyChip audience has the answers. Funnily enough, we live in a day and age where companies can get tons of data nefariously - but they still have so many questions! We'll soon ask them to create their questions at corporate.jellychip.com so that they can ask their JellyChip customers real questions. And get real answers. And they get to change real lives because each survey question is worth twenty points.
Knowledge is a fickle beast but it's less fickle when it's applied to changing lives. With 15,000 questions and counting, there are enough tidbits of trivia to truly tickle your tailbone in JellyChip. Answer a trivia question right and users get one point to spend. A new question appears in the Surveys list every 10 minutes so it's actually possible to change the planet by playing trivia!
The most important part of JellyChip, which is to change a life. Crowdsource charity gifts with your friends and instantly change lives for free with Lifeline. Donate your points together with people across the world and buy the voted-for gift in JellyChip. This literally moves mountains! At the end of each month, JellyChip pays our charity partners for the number of gifts bought with real money. Charities can then make our impact for us which is a really awesome thing.
We're going to change the world!
We want to be innovative, inspiring and life-changing.
There are two problems in the world. The first is that social networks have lost their meaning. We have a range of social apps segregated by function and community providing less and less value to people. For us, social media has become a place to scroll through old friends and the same "personas," old baby socks and graduation pics. The tech giants love your data and sell you a free service to buy your soul.
The second problem is that we are now part of the largest humanitarian crisis since WWII. The upheaval in Syria, Iraq and across the greater Middle East has left millions without homes. Across the world millions of children live in extreme poverty and the wealth gap is only growing larger. We're polluting our environment at a rate much faster than 20 years ago and a global solution continues to evade us. Our situation is getting worse and harder to solve, which is why we tend to block it all out.
So we made JellyChip, a chat app we made over 3 years to fill the gap between social networks and change. JellyChip allows its users to buy charity gifts for free. Users can chat to their friends, send a snap, answer surveys, play trivia, watch ads and invite their friends to earn points. Users can then spend those points on a charity gift and change a life. At the end of each month we pay our charities for the number of gifts our users have purchased and together we've changed the world.
How do we pay for our change? JellyChip Surveys - and our survey platform was created primarily for this reason. Survey creators can ask JellyChip users questions and get valuable data on how to change their business and make better business decisions. This is the first system of its kind anywhere in the world and could potentially revolutionise market research. Surveys also pays for the points that users earn and spend, indirectly it pays for our charity gifts. If a user spends their points and buys a charity gift we'll pay for it. Survey creators get the answers they want and users get to change the world.
We've created JellyChip to change the planet. We're also going to do it in the most ethical way possible. We don't steal user data, we don't mine user information, we actually don't care what users do on JellyChip. We hope that users answer surveys and this will keep JellyChip going. Our idea is to break the trend of offering a free service and monetising every ounce of your personal data - instead we believe it's time to offer a solution that changes the planet and keeps your privacy intact.
We're excited to be creating JellyChip and believe in the potential of people power. We're building something much bigger than ourselves here and can't wait for you to be part of it.
Let's do this!
The Philippine Pet Birth Control Center or PPBCC is at the helm of promoting responsible pet ownership across the Philippines. They are a non-profit organization aiming to lessen animal abuse and abandonment by controlling dog and cat population through low-cost neutering. Their years of existence have been dedicated to helping alleviate the alarming population of stray dogs and cats in the nation.
PPBCC focuses their advocacy on containing and eliminating rabies caused by animal bitse particularly from stray dogs and cats in local communities. Rabies is considered to be a neglected disease, which is 100% fatal, though 100% preventable. It is not among the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in the country but is regarded as a significant public health problem for two reasons; first, it is one of the most acutely fatal infections in the Philippines and second, it is responsible for the death of 200-300 Filipinos annually. At least 1/3 of these deaths are due to human rabies and its effect on children less than 15 years old. Animal bite cases have been increasing over the past 5 years. At least 328,459 persons in 2011, and 266,220 individuals in 2010 were bitten by animals.
Dr. Maricelle Licuanan-Resurreccion, a veterinarian by profession founded the PPBCC in 2003. With the intent to promote responsible pet ownership and companion animal welfare, she mounted community seminars and trainings to educate pet owners and community leaders on the threat of rabies from animal bites. Slowly she gained the support of close friends and family members who joined her on this mission. “Growing up, I would see my parents treating our pets as real members of the family, perhaps my interest in veterinary medicine was long inculcated at a young age because of this,” Dr. Maricelle shares.
“Animal companionship and welfare are the next step to responsible pet ownership. Aside from keeping your pet safe and well fed, owners have to make sure they are neutered to avoid unwanted reproduction.” Dr. Maricelle explains. “Pet owners need to realize that neutering their pets can actually increase the lifespan of the furry-friend and can also eliminate the possibility of ovarian and uterine cancers for female cats and dogs.”
PPBCC offers low-cost spaying and neutering for pet owners. “We know that subjecting their pets for this kind of procedure are added cost to the owners, but this is a necessary spending to avoid the increasing population of stray animals in community alleys and streets. And if they are not contained, these stray animals, who are predisposed to rabies, will be a grave threat to people who will be prone to animal bite.” Dr. Maricelle adds.
PPBCC also conducts free neutering and spaying in indigenous communities where stray animal incidence is more frequent. PPBCC Doctors and volunteers hold mobile neutering clinics around the country. With the continuous and increasing support, largely coming from the private sector, PPBCC is able to fulfil their mission and slowly but surely get on their way to reach a vision of a zero-rabies Philippines.
