Years after Typhoon Haiyan and affected communities are still struggling with their basic needs - food, water, shelter, clothing, and electricity. Communication remains a problem due to the lack, and in most cases absence, of a power supply. An average of 20 typhoons visit the Philippines every year, five of which are destructive at the level of Typhoon Haiyan. Project EnKindle aims to immediately address the need for the electricity of this disaster-stricken community by providing lighting, charging of communication devices, and powering of essential devices. This gift provides a solar lamp for a day to a family in an area living with the effects of both the Typhoon and earthquake. This sustainable solution is called a "Light of Hope" with a 2-year warranty.
This gift impacts communities in the Philippines and costs 360 points on JellyChip.
The target charity is Project EnKindle.
