The Department of Health has started their National Rabies Prevention and Control Program with the goal of eradicating rabies by the year 2020. In the Philippines, anyone can own a cat or dog, even without the means to give them proper vaccinations and training. Philippine Pet Birth Control Center or PPBCC has been going around the Philippines, especially in rural provincial areas, to educate pet owners about their responsibilities. They are also briefed about DOH’s program and warn them about how rabies is very deadly. A one-day seminar includes pet care and training materials, anti-rabies shots, collars and leashes for free to pet owners of 400 pets. This lasts for about 7 hours and conducted by at least 5 volunteers. This gift will provide one anti-rabies shot to a dog in Manila so they can live their life rid of this disease.
This gift impacts communities in the Philippines and costs 320 points on JellyChip.
The target charity is PPBCC.
