Jaime Hilario Integrated School in Bagac was established in 2006 targeting poor children who had no access to primary education. Education is free in the Philippines, however the additional costs of transport to and from school, stationery, school materials and equipment can cause many parents financial stress, particularly as many families have more than four children. Most children come from local fishing or agricultural families or their parents may run small shops. To help the children get to school, a bus and jeepney transport service is run by Jaime Hilario. The majority live within 5km of the school so this is much needed. This gift will provide one pencil for a student to use and learn at the school.
This gift supports communities in the Philippines and costs 474 points on JellyChip.
The target charity is the Lasallian Foundation.
