So let’s get stuck into the details of a brand new week (despite being one day late).
Right now we’re working on #mute #snaps and this is a very important thing. I love the community we’re building with JellyChip and we’re beavering away to add more features to the app that connect people. And it’s super to see people already using our existing features to connect and be part of something bigger than them.
One of those features is Snaps. The amount of dog pics I receive every day is simply overwhelming. And school pics. And uni pics. And gardening pics. It’s pretty insane to see people all over the world sharing their personal story in Snaps - and that’s such a cool thing. People are using JellyChip!
But at the same time my phone can’t handle 10 push notifications from Snaps every hour. I need to work! And neither can our Amazon push notification service (everything has technical limitations).
Now this might be fine for the everyday user but I’ve approved 225 friends to date on JellyChip, and maybe I shouldn’t have!
Either way we need to account for people that have lots of friends on JellyChip so that’s the way we designed it, with community in mind. In this way we’re currently build a “Mute Snap” function that allows you to mute certain people sending you Snaps.
They can still send you as many Snaps as they want - and they won’t be able to see you’ve muted them. But all those Snap Received push notifications won’t land on your phone.
